Ashley and I were shooting emails back and forth and I included some of our conversation

My week was good. New Years Eve was
relaxing. We watched the testaments movie. I made stew for us and Sis L. made a
fish curry. Hot stuff... but I’m getting used to it. We found two
new potential investigators on Tuesday while tracting in the cardigan area (it
was such a beautiful sunny day too!) And we saw one of them yesterday. New
investigator! She is so open minded (and her husband, but he was asleep at the
time) she is 23 with a daughter and another on the way. Brought up Christian,
believes the bible, but thinks that some of it is wrong. She says that
she is always looking for something and she loves to learn new things. She
is golden. The gospel is perfect for her (well it's perfect for everyone... but
she is perfectly ready! The gospel will help her with her family
too. She seems like she could already be a member. A good person. I’ll
keep you posted :) I love the people! It’s hard to say goodbye every
time we go to visit someone.... lol

Hello!
This week was great! We were able to do a little bit of everything. Met some new people. Thoroughly enjoyed tracting on Tuesday... and found two potentials while we were at it. And now one of the potentials (well a young family even) are new investigators. I'm super excited for them. She is very kind and open minded. She has a religious background but never really settled on anything (though she's looked into a lot of different faiths.) She believes the in God and Jesus Christ and the bible, though she feels like there are things that are missing or wrong in the bible. I can't wait to teach her again. We didn't have much time to talk with her yesterday, but we explained about the Book of Mormon and left her to read the introduction. We'll see her again on Thursday.
I really love visiting with the members and the less actives. Some of the best people in the world live in the Newcastle Emlyn area! It's hard to leave their homes sometimes because I feel so at home. They have definitely helped me to feel comfortable here.
I'm working on creating a vision for 2013. I want to be able to look back on this year and see all the things I was able to accomplish- all the goals. Our ward mission council has some great goals for the year too. I'm excited to get the ward involved in the work and to work towards meeting these goals. One of the first things we're doing is having a missionary fireside; themed 'I'm a Mormon'. Where we'll help the youth and the YSA to feel more comfortable talking about the gospel with their friends. I'm excited; it's gonna be great!
I've also accomplished something big this week. Well. Big to me. I'm getting up on time. Well at 6:20. I kept feeling guilty that I wasn't being exactly obedient and I kept praying that I'd have the desire and the motivation to get up in the morning; to not press the snooze button. Again and again. And then i noticed that something kept waking me up around 6:20 every morning. A strange noise, or it was too hot, or I just randomly woke up. For a few days I just went back to sleep; that's a valuable ten minutes! But then I found that I would still sleep longer than ten minutes. So I convinced myself to get up at 6:20. And I've done that for 3 days in a row. Success! I think that God is helping me; waking me up earlier. The ten minutes is a sacrifice, but I've already seen blessings come, and I don't want to lose them. I've always known that exact obedience brings blessings; I just wasn't applying it.
So. A pretty good week over all. I LOVE Newcastle Emlyn! Can't wait to see what other blessing the Lord will grant us!
Hope you have a great week!

We met a really cute old couple on Wednesday.
They are less active, but only due to health reasons... and it's nearly an hour
drive to the chapel from their home. They were telling us a bit about
their life (I wrote down a lot of their story in my journal because I loved
it) about how they met, how they met the missionaries, and the impact it
has had on their lives. He was a rebel catholic, who saw way more than he
wanted to in the war and took to alcoholism. His life turned very
dark. Even suicidal. But he had a vision of his future wedding day and of
his beautiful wife... whom he later bumped into in a college lecture. They
married on the exact day he saw in his vision. She saw the missionaries
knocking doors across the street, but no one would let them in. she wondered
what they were saying and why so many people were turning them away. So she
promised that she would let them in. She was raised protestant- her
father was the preacher even. She only had one question for them. Did
they believe in baptism by immersion... yup. He had one question for them
too. Do we believe in the trinity? Nope. ok. baptize us... but of course
they had to learn the lessons first... and they were quickly baptized and had
four children born under the covenant... though only one is fully active in the
church right now. They live in our ward
as well. I fully enjoyed learning about their life.
And we had a couple of awesome DA's
this week. Good food... I’m gonna get fat I swear. blugh! Diet time! Anyways,
pday is over. Heading to cardigan. I love you... I know I say that a
lot.. And those 8 letters just don't do the phrase justice. Bother. But
you know what I mean :p
Love, Ashley
