Wow! a crazy week! it seems like it went so fast.... but slow too. so much happened.
we can start with my birthday.... it was sunny and warm. there
were crocus flowers blooming in random places all over. i didn't wear my
coat all day. we took some fun pics in the sun and visited a LA (less active).
Then we did AUF work. i have no idea what that stands for... but it's
contacting people who have not been to church in a long long time... and
somehow the church finds their names and has us stop by to contact
them.... half the time they are not the right person - they aren't even
members. but it's a good finding technique cuz we meet people on the
way and in the area. so that's what we ended up doing - even though the
area looked a bit rough. it was daylight and we needed to report on
whether or not we knocked doors in that area. and at the very last door
on the street.... an indian lady came to the door. spoke for a couple
minutes with us then asked if we'd like to come in.... um. yeah :) ! we
talked for a bit. both her and her husband converted to christianity
some years ago due to miracles they saw with their son and answers to
prayers. the husband asked to know if her should worship God and Jesus
(i think they were both Sikh before... read up on sikh if you can. a
fascinating religion... they are pretty solid in their
faith, though they know an indian family in our ward. but she asked if
we could come back next week... 'and i will make you dinner...' Whoo!
so. yup. exciting. :)
and then. sad news on wednesday.

i lost all the pics on my camera. all of them! :( i tried not to
cry. it kinda ruined my day.... but i acted like it waws ok. cuz i was
pretty sure sis. g did it... on accident of course. i don't think she
even realized she did it.... cuz she doesn't read english well. but she
had been using my camera moments before i realized they were gone.... so
we spent all of language study making up for lost pictures.... so now
we have nearly 250 pictures of us.... and we seem to be in teh habit of
taking alot a day now. which is good. but i'm gonna run out of room on
my memory card soon (hoping to get one from mum soon....:P)
anyways. i won't bore you with all the details of the week. time just goes
soooo fast. even faster when we're having fun... and sis. Gr.
makes things super fun. she is a great missionary.... though still
working on the language. i am amazed at how much she has learned in 6
months. i don't think i could've learned that fast (at least not on my
own....) i wonder what she would be like without the language barrier. a
VERY POWERFUL missionary no doubt.
i'm trying to be better everyday.... i seem to get better at at
least one thing every day... but discover more to work on everyday
too.... typical.... the more we learn the more we realize that we don't
actually know.
I think one of the coolest things that has happened this past week
is J. i don't remember if i told you last week.... but last last
friday an African many walked right up to us when we were at McDonalds
looking rather dazed. and told us he was a member and had never seen
missionaries here in the UK. and we gave him our details and he showed
up at church 2 days later. so we went to his house (he said he had a
wife and kids)
we met the family and we have a return appointment. the mother and
three stepdaughters are christian. M. (his Wife) is a pastors
daughter and very active in her own church.
