I’m good. It snowed again last
night. it's cold here too.... warmer than there no doubt. Bone chilling cold
though. I always wear a sweater and thick tights. The skirts you
sent have been nice... only now I have inherited a lot more skirts (I have 14
skirts! And I like them all. Sad day. I don't know which ones to get rid
of :S )
We had a decent week. Nothing
of note missionary work wise, but we had a fun day on Friday. Did I tell you
about the missionary musical fireside they put together? It was way fun
:) sang allll day!
I am quite limited on time today....
so you all get a generic letter this week. but i love you all individually
(even though lexi didn't write me for 2 weeks!... lol. jk. i understand.:P )
This week was pretty good. Well
number-wise it was rubbish. blugh. But we kept going. We taught a
few lessons and met a few new people. My favorite day this week was actually
when we went to Stroud for a musical fireside. Pres and Sis Rasmussen
selected 12 elders and 12 sisters to meet at noon to learn the music to present
at 7. Lots of singing. What better way to spend a day with other
missionaries. I was super happy to see Sis. M. I didn't realize how much I
missed her till I was chatting with her again. :( but I think I’ll see
her at least one more time before she goes home in may... I think we'll have a
sister's conference in April.
One fun experience from this
week.... we were going to visit a less active (who I still haven't met
actually....) but Sis. J. wasn't too sure which door it was. So she guessed...
she actually said she was pretty certain. so she knocked and backed up to
the road... as is her usual...So a lady answers the door and I hear Sis. J. mumble
that it's not the right door. So we just proceed with our door approach. The lady
seemed tired, but she kept talking to us. And we set up another appt.....well. She
actually just texted about 30 seconds ago and cancelled due to health. But she
is still in contact! So we're excited to see her
We are actually gonna start a
companion exchange tonight with Sis. T. (who was the sister that was here
before me) and her greenie companion (though technically we're not supposed to
use that word. They are in just the next ward over. Exchanges are
fun. But intimidating, cuz I always want to give a good impression, even though
somedays just end up being rubbish days regardless... :(
We are also receiving 8 new sisters
this coming transfer.... and we only have 12 sisters that are available to
train. 2 came out after me and 2 are my age (transfer wise....) so I may
be training. I’m excited, but nervous. I think I might whitewash and
train at the same time. Or open a brand new area entirely. Whew! It’ll be
hard. I want to be a really good example....
Bother. I just got the five minute
warning. :( there were lots of things that happened this week. And I
had a really good time with my companions. especially last night. we were
able to just relax and have fun, singing and dancing to some Disney music... taking
pictures of random things, craziness. This week should be pretty good, too,
hopefully we can get our numbers up - though I know that's not what it is
about.... I just want to feel like I’m fulfilling my purpose more and
more. And zone conference is on Valentine’s Day. That’s gonna be a
fun day :) I love missionaries. lol. And there'll be a lot of us...
aaaah! got to go! But I
love you all. And hope you are well..... Feel free to write me snail post (Lexi....
sorry I haven't written in a while. I promise I’ll start a letter tonight! hope
the mission in Elko is going fabulously!)
Till we speak again! <3
Love ya!
- Ashley
