Caerfydd!!!!! WALES!!!!
Hello! hello! This isn't my pday, but my companion really needed to write her mom an email or her mom freaks out. works for me! yay!
oh, and guess what... We;re whitewashing. WOOOHOOOO! Sis. Medvescik (from Slovania) and I are going to do amazing here! there have never been sister here (at least no for 10 years). we're less than a mile from the bay. beautiful, though I've only seen glimpses of the bay so far.
today we had our first lunch appointment. with the relief society pres. and the other elders in our ward. it's a huge city, i think the Capitol. and the bikes we inherited aren't the best. we tried to get them in working order before our appointment at 1.. but no luck. (though we did do some tracting, and we leave a card with just about everyone we pass) we had to take a bus to Sis. Russ's house. first we had to find the bus. and then we had to figure out when we were supposed to get off. we managed. thanks to some nice people on the bus and a helpful bus driver :)
We're definitely loving it so far. the people are very nice, though there are not a lot of members in the area. by Sunday, hopefully, we'll have met the majority of them. and from what it sounds like, we only have one investigator right now and he already has a baptismal date! I hope it is a success. :)
and Sis. Medvescek and I are going to try to learn some Welsh while we're here. The lettering is very different. We're in Cardiff (Caerdydd)... and just about all their signs around here are in both English and Welsh, so hopefully we'll pick some of it up.
i was pretty apprehensive at first. kinda terrifying, being whitewashed. neither of us know anyone, or how to get anywhere. luckily one of the elders in the area has been here for 7 months. :)
we have plans to make lots of goodies and really get to know the ward. that's the best way to get referrals cuz then the investigator would already have support. i really wished that i had been a better missionary in our ward before leaving. all it takes is a referral and the spirit... and agency of course. so start working on it now! maybe ask for some pass along cards from the elders in the ward. we just say 'can we share a website with you?' they almost always take it and then 'there's a lot about families and family history...' etc. try to get the ward excited about it! Missionary work really requires ward help!!!!!
i love it here... huge city. and lots of walking already (though we do have a bus pass for the rest of the day
anyways. I'm sending this one now. in case you're on (well in case mom is on... this is a mass email. well 2. lol)
love you.
I'll write more in a second

hi!!!!
again.
i'm not sure how long Sis. M will be on. but i technically have 10 more minutes. :)
we have another dinner appointment tonight. with a recent convert and the elders again. i wonder how long we'll be working with the elders here. it would definitely be helpful to have them around for support.
Sis. M is awesome. We are pretty similar. she's been out for 10 months. and she loves to sing... so we're prolly going to sing for our investigators quite a bit. i think we're going to ask if we can sing in sacrament for next sunday.
oh yeah. mom, did you get the email from Sis. Williams with the youtube link of our musical fireside?
not sure what else to write about. i will have a paper letter coming for next week (i'll post it next week at least. ) it's been hard to find time to write, we've been cleaning during our freetime at night and in the morning, we're going to start studying a little bit of Welsh, and we need to reorganize our area book and area map.
