A Really Cool Story!

Ashley has been telling me a lot of mission stories in her handwritten letters to home.  I want to share my favorite story. 

About a month after Ashley was transferred to Wales, I wanted to send her a treat.  I knew there were places in the United States that will bake cookies, treats, etc and deliver them for you.  So, I got online and started searching for a bakery like that in Cardiff.  After searching for awhile, I found a "cupcake" company that would make a treat fresh and deliver it.  I gave Matt, the owner, the address to deliver the treat to.  I didn't realize the company hand delivered it, I thought it would be mailed.  Matt contacted me at least a couple of times telling me that they were having troubles with the delivery because the sisters were always gone.  He asked for their cell phone number and I felt so bad to tell him that I didn't have that information and that I could only talk to my daughter on Monday's, through email.  I knew it sounded crazy to him, so I explained that Ashley and her "roommate" are LDS missionaries and explained the mission rules.  Well, Matt provided excellent service and he made sure the girls got their treat.  Ashley and her companion were stumped as to how I did it, lol,  The wonders of technology!  Matt left a business card with their treat, but they had not actually met him.  The girls sent me a picture of them holding their treats with a sign that said "Thank you!  We love you mom!".  I felt very strongly that I should thank Matt for the excellent service he provided and how much it meant to me to be able to do something special for my daughter and how it made the miles between us seem less, instead half way around the world.  I also forwarded the picture the girls sent me, to him.  He wrote me back and thanked me for acknowledging the great job he did.  Now for the really neat part.  Ashley and her companion were doing street contacting in the market place.  She said there were all kinds of businesses set up for the Christmas season in the market place.  As they were walking through, Ashley recognized the business card Matt had left with their treat.  Matt also recognized the girls and asked Ashley if she was my daughter!!  Amazing story!  I guess they talked for awhile and he said he would be set up in the market place through the Christmas season.  I am anxious to hear the continuation of this story!
