***************************************************************
this wont be a super long letter cuz i can only send so many pics in one go, so it's gonna be all choppy.
this week was pretty good. we're getting into a good routine (though we still haven't even met everyone in the ward.)
on tuesday we had our district meeting as usual at the rhiwbina chapel (stake center) and it was a zone conference (sorta... half zone) It was fun to meet new elders... especially the zone lunch we had afterward. a chinese buffet. the nice kind. i ate WAY too much. it was all so good. and i told the elders that i had eaten too much... but of course i kept eating. it was good... lol. i'm pretty sure they were laughing at me. in a nice way no doubt. and it was only £7 each... it's a pretty equal translation. a loaf of bread/ a large candy bar/ 2 pints of milk is about £1... if only the dollar to pound conversion was equal... we have £133 per month. i'm never going to spend that much. (though i might run out this month cuz we had to buys rail cards and return tickets (meaning both ways) to Birmingham.
We had a meeting at the mission home. all the trainers/trainees. we laughed. a 3 hour train ride on thursday night. for a 3 hour meeting early friday morning and a 3 hour return trip home. we stayed with the sisters staying close by - literally a 10 minute walk from the mission home. so it was fun to meet them. :)
our training meeting was a typical meeting. we discussed finding techniques, and did some role playing and such. had a nice lunch, chatted a bit (recieved POST!!!!!!!!) and headed back to the rail station.
Thanks a ton for the package!!!!!!!!!!!! i've already set up the christmas tree... though we haven't decorated it. i was all for decorating it on sunday, but Sis. M... and everyone else i mentioned it to, thought it's too early. darn. those little ornaments were adorable! and we're going to do the 12 days of christmas too! The tights are cute- but too small :( on a bike all day caused me to split a hole in the but. I am not gaining weight! i hope. (our scale ran out of battery, so i don't honestly know.) i do have some warm leggings though - so i'm not freezing... just doing laundry every couple of days. i don't have very much in the way of clothing. apparently i'm one of the only sisters that followed the 5-6 outfits requirement. plus 3 of my skirts dont go well with a bike... and the light colors lead to faster soiling. bother.
(Trying this again... bother. there must have been too many pics...) i hope i can get it to go through. sorry if this is a repeat email...)
kk. i'm gonna send this one, so i can get more pics coming. :)
PICTURES:
207 = my new bike! yay! ... i think you've seen this already though. oh well.
220 = thankyou sooooo much for the goodies... chocolate whoopies you called them. it was a wonderful surprise! Sis. Medvescek definitely enjoyed them too. She thinks you're pretty awesome... I do too off course. :P
223/226 = Lost in Barry. It is a long ways away from our flat as it is. and the roads were crazy busy. like bicycling on the interstate (the interstate is called the motorway here though) so we took some small side roads, and then took a wrong turn. Thank goodness for a good map and pleasant weather. wish i had taken more pics, but these were fun. :)

PICTURES:
235= singing at the stake center during the break between sessions. pictured: Sis. M on piano, Elder Prosman, and Sunny (a recent convert in our ward)
231 = our stake center!!!! Yup... the sign's in welsh. i'm gonna get a name tag in welsh too :)
240 = mission football. the elders LOVED this. there were 2 zones meeting all together (thankfully it was in our area so we didn't have a long way to travel... and some sisters stayed the night with us the night before... that was fun, but we always stay up far too late...) it was a requirement from the president that a sister plays on each team at all times... guess he wants the Elders to be a little more gentle... that translated to me standing on the wet cold (muddy) field and watching a bunch of 19 year olds running around kicking a white ball... well. brown ball. i did kick it once though. and here's a pic for your enjoyment :P
245 = this was on thursday. we originally planned to go to Barry again, but then we found out about the training thing in Birmingham, and had an appt with a less active. so we stayed closer to home. we went to penarth in the morning to deliver a reminder about a memer fast (all month, someone has fasted each day for missionary miracles... pretty awesome... it was hard when i did it though, cuz it was our Barry day... 6 hours on a bike with no food and water... i wasn't functioning. i ended up breaking the fast a bit early....) on our way back from Penarth (which is only about 20 minutes if we take the Barrage (a walking/cycling path over the bay... where boats can come into the bay from the channel..... they lift up the bridge thingy..you know what i'm talking about...)) it started raining... i mean POURING! I dont think this picture does it justice. we were soaked through... i wont lie. i enjoyed every second of it. these are the kinds of things that makes each day enjoyable... makes for good stories later on. :) so we went home really fast for lunch and dry clothes. of course that took much longer than we intended, so we were running late for our appt with a LA/RC (ha! missionary lingo. LA = less active. RC = recent convert... he's been a member for 2 months. was sooo golden, but is struggling now.) on our way over... it rained hard again. we were soaking. again. lol.
it was a rush after that. run home pack, eat... no time to change... and we had to walk (well run practically) to the rail station. but we made it on time.
sending now. i hope this email will hold 4 pics. the last one didn't. bother.
love ya!

On saturday we spent a good part our of our study time working on a a song as a spiritual thought for our DA (dinner appt) that evening with the Rai family. we liked it a lot so we recorded it. unfortuantely the file is too big so i can't send it through email, but it's on my memory card for when i send that home... i still have a lot of memory left though, so prolly not for a while. but it was 'Nearer my God to Thee.' we made up some descant parts (higher than the melody.) we really enjoyed it.
and it ended up being perfect... cuz borther and sister Rai don't speak english. which we didn't know til lwe got there. the elders went with us though so it wasn't too silent and awkward. (we're not generally allowed to have DAs with the elders, but they got permission from the Pres.) so a musical thought was perfect, since they didn't understand the words. sis. Rai cried. it made us feel good to be able to bring the spirit into their home. they are preparing to go to the temple.. they're even more excited cuz now there is a Nepalese speaker at the temple who can translate for them.
the food she made us was so good... so i'm sending a picture of it :)
are you sick of pictures yet?
One investigator is still golden. Everything we throw at him he soaks right up. we were worried about the W.o.W... he's Indian... they love their tea. but he just doesn't like it. or coffee. and he rarely drinks (which is something he'd be more than willing to give up. And tithing... we thought... he's a poor Uni student... struggling to find a good job to keep his visa... 10 percent is a lot. but nope. his family (was raised Catholic) has been paying a 10 percent tithe since he could remember. we have less than two weeks before his baptism! and it seems to be going so smoothly. one more lesson. and an interview with the DL (district leader - elder Girffith... it's nice that our District leader is in our ward...) on Sunday and the final preparations for the big day the saturday after that! :)
anyways. about out of time now. sorry if everything was scatter brained today. love you tons
ashley
